Australia - Strike force targets alleged bikies

TWO men have been arrested and fines issued during a weekend police blitz on alleged members of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) at Dubbo and Lithgow.
Strike Force Raptor officers conducted the two-day operation in relation to a gathering of Rebels members and associates at the Dubbo clubhouse.
The operations included:
A business inspection conducted by police at a car yard where two infringement notices were issued for failing to complying with licence conditions.
A business inspection conducted by police at Rebels clubhouse and two infringement notices issued for breaching liquor licence conditions.
An alleged member of the Rebels OMCG was detected by police riding a Harley-Davidson at 160km/h in a 100km/h zone. He was issued with a traffic infringement for exceed speed by more than 45km/h and his licence was suspended.
A search warrant was executed at 11pm on Saturday at a home in Dubbo following investigations into an alleged theft and malicious damage offence. A 46-year-old Rebels OMCG member was arrested and charged with possess prohibited weapon. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court next month. Handcuffs and Rebels clothing was seized by police at the home.
An alleged high-ranking member of the Kiama Chapter of the Rebels OMCG was detected allegedly in breach of previous bail conditions. The 24 year-old man from Sydney’s Smithfield was arrested and charged with breach of bail. He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court.
Strike Force Raptor officers also assisted Dubbo police in preventing a number of OMCG representatives from entering licensed premises in the area due to their level of intoxication and behaviour.
Strike Force Raptor officers also conducted a safe storage inspection at a home at Hermitage Flat near Lithgow on Sunday in relation to firearm-related matters.
During the inspection police located and seized firearms including three .22 calibre rifles, one .177 calibre rifle, a .303 calibre rifle, a 12-guage shotgun, and a quantity of ammunition.
A 63-year-old man, an alleged ex-member of the Comanchero OMCG, had his firearms licence suspended and he will be issued with a Future Service Court Attendance Notice in relation to allegedly failing to keep firearms safely.
Strike Force Raptor was established by the State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009 and is a pro-active, high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and their alleged associated criminal enterprises.
