S&S Cycles continues warranty for Big Dog Motorcycles

OFF THE WIRE
S&S Cycles continues warranty for Big Dog Motorcycles

Written by Asia
Big Dog Motorcycles may be a footnote in motorcycle history but the motorcycle community is rallying around the owners of these American built bikes.
Regardless of how new their motorcycles are, Big Dog Motorcycle owners are facing the open road without a warranty, with it officially ending with the company. But the company that produces the engines used in Big Dog Motorcycles (BDM), S&S Cycles is stepping up to the plate and offering a special engine warranty to all owners of Big Dog motorcycles that were still covered by the factory warranty.
Not only will S&S honor the warranty on any S&S engine that was supplied in a Big Dog for as long as the original vehicle warranty would have lasted, but the company is also able to supply replacement parts for the stock emissions compliant engine.
This allows Big Dog riders the opportunity to have their engine repaired at any S&S dealer or by the S&S Remanufacturing Service. All work will be completed leaving the engine "street legal" and not in violation of any emissions laws.
Finally, S&S can offer performance upgrades for the BDM V117 engine, which can be installed by an S&S dealer or the company’s Remanufacturing service.
"I'm certainly sad to see a good customer like BDM close their doors, but I feel that we need to shoulder the responsibility, and make sure the end customer gets a square deal,” S&S company president George Smith commented, “I suppose we could just look the other way, but I won't do that. After all, these are S&S engines. We built them and we're going to stand behind them!"
