MEMPHIS — Officials say a Memphis police officer has been charged with sending inappropriate photos of himself to a 15-year-old girl through email.
The Memphis Police Department says it received information Wednesday that 25-year-old Officer Austin McDaniel had possibly been involved in inappropriate activities with a minor.
A department news release says a preliminary investigation revealed McDaniel sent several photos of himself to the girl. He was arrested and faces a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.
McDaniel has been relieved of duty pending the case's outcome. Online records do not indicate if he has a lawyer.
