Canada - NB biker arrested in Amherst for drugs

AMHERST – A full-patch member of the Albert County Bacchus Motorcycle Club in New Brunswick was arrested in Amherst on Monday and charged with drug-related offences.
Members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia, with the help of the Amherst Police Department, conducted an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in the Town of Amherst.
As a result, police stopped a vehicle and two people were arrested for possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was issued for the vehicle. Police seized approximately a quarter-pound of marijuana, a conducted energy weapon (stun gun) and trace amounts of cocaine.
The RCMP in New Brunswick prepared a further search warrant for the driver’s residence in Riverview and police seized a marijuana grow operation, drug debt ledgers, several pounds of marijuana and home computers.
The driver, a 48-year-old Riverview man, will appear in provincial court in Amherst next month to answer to charges including possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
