Cops suspect members of the biker gang Hells Angels are responsible for the brutal stabbing of a man in San Francisco’s Mid-Market district Tuesday.
A 35-year-old old man was in serious condition after being stabbed in the back of his head and neck just before midnight, police said Wednesday.
According to the police report, 10 men riding motorcycles and wearing Hells Angels jackets approached the victim and another man at Market and Taylor streets.
One of the suspects asked the 35-year-old victim if he was a member of the Mongols, a rival motorcycle club.
The victims fled, but were chased down. The 35-year-old man was stabbed, and also suffered a cut lip, before the bikers fled the scene on their motorcycles. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life threatening, according to police Officer Albie Esparza.
The second victim, a 39-year-old man, was not injured during the attack.
There has been no arrest.
The violence in San Francisco between the two biker gangs includes an incident in 2008. A Mongol member, Christopher Ablett, is accussed of the Sept. 2, 2008, fatal shooting of 46-year old Mark Guardado, president of the San Francisco chapter of the Hells Angels.
