Australia - Turtle, tarantula, snake seized in bikie raid

A CHINESE turtle, a Mexican tarantula and an American cornsnake were part of a collection of unique fauna seized by police investigating an alleged drug ring linked to the Rebels bikie gang.
Strike Force Raptor officers conducted a search warrant yesterday at a property on the Prospect Highway, Prospect, following investigations into alleged drug activity linked to the outlaw motorcycle gang.
There police found quantities of cannabis leaf, cannabis seed, hashish and an unidentified white powder. Two motorcycles were also seized, including one which was reported stolen.
Also located was a collection of unique fauna, including an American corn snake, a Chinese soft-backed turtle, a Mexican tarantula, four tree frogs and a chameleon dragon.
A 34-year-old Prospect man has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, five counts of possessing prohibited fauna and one count each of goods in custody and receiving stolen property.
