Sport Motor BUELL GEICO Powersports


GEICO Powersports today announced it will sponsor a Richie Morris Buell 1125R with competing in the 2009 AMA Superbike Championship with rider Michael Barnes of the veteran. The RMR team will compete in the Daytona Sportbike class plans to participate in the entire 12 race series, beginning with the Daytona 200 at Daytona International Road under lights in the evening of March 6, 2009.

Wisconsin-based Richie Morris competes with that revealed his GEICO Powersports 1125R-liveries in tire testing at the December Dunlop Daytona International road today, is making the leap to the AMA competition after two successful seasons competing with Buell motorcycles in the series resistance of SunTrust MOTO-ST.

We had a GEICO Powersports last season through his support of the Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona competing with the team, Morris said. GEICO was impressed with our performance last year with a motorcycle in the first year, and wanted an independent team in a championship class premier AMA Superbike for 2009. We are honored to have Richie Morris GEICO Powersports ensemble that competes with the seasons to come. Protector of the family compete with Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona also appears on the motorcycle.

The Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona to compete with No. 8 Buell 1125R race entered Richie Morris won two races and finished third in class full of first Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport (SST) during the 2008 MOTO-ST. In 2007, the team placed in the twins of MOTO-ST GrandSport (GST) ranked second, competing with a Buell Firebolt XB12R. Richie Morris competed with last competed in the AMA Pro Superbike series in 1999.

We are excited to work with Richie Morris competing with something like competing in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class, Eric Vaden said the GEICO Powersports. Morris was involved with Richie and the Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona that competed with the team of SunTrust MOTO-ST last season and they did an outstanding job for us. This is a great opportunity with a winning team and we are very pleased with how well this all came together.

Michael Barnes, age 40, began competing with motorcycles professionally in 1990 and has been assiduous in AMA since 1994. Barnes finished third in the AMA 750 Supersport class and won the race of the season-end in Las Vegas in 1996. The competition for the M4 Emgo Suzuki team in 2006, Barnes had five third and final podium position in the AMA Supersport championship. He has many of the final podium in AMA SuperStock, Supersport, Superbike and Xtreme classes of the formula. Barnes has also competed in the series of the Association of American Sportbike competing with favorable (ASRA), and in 2008 competed for the Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona competing with the team entered by Richie Morris that competed with the series of SunTrust MOTO-ST. Barnes lives in Boca Raton, Florida.

It's great to see Privateer Buell sponsorship to compete with the increase of equipment like this, that the president and the principal technical officer of Buell Erik Buell. The competition of Richie Morris will also be the first team of the Private Buell AMA to take advantage of our new development assistance program of the race, driven by David McGrath, who will work with the teams selected for the development of the Private in the 1125R the track and back at the factory.
