Australia - Stabbing sparks fears of revenge attack

THE man stabbed in a brazen attack at a Gold Coast shopping centre is reportedly a known associate of the Bandidos outlaw bikie gang, sparking fears of possible revenge attacks.
The victim's injuries were not serious and he took himself to Gold Coast Hospital where allegedly several patched members of the Bandidos arrived to offer support.
The man was later released from hospital.
Yesterday, police said they were concerned the stabbing happened in such a public place -- at the Q Super Centre in front of stunned shoppers.
The man was at the Noodle Box restaurant about 8.30pm on Thursday when three of four men approached him.
The altercation spilled into the carpark where the 32-year-old from Surfers Paradise was stabbed and slashed in the back a number of times.
Southern Investigative Group Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Garrett yesterday refused to confirm the man's links to the Bandido club.
"We are not commenting on that at this stage,'' he said.
However, police sources said the victim was a "well-known associate'' of the club.
"He's definitely linked to the Bandidos, there's no doubt about that,'' the officer said.
Sen-Sgt Garrett said police had no leads on the attackers, but were still yet to formally interview the victim.
"It would seem that the parties involved are most likely known to each other,'' he said.
